book I recommend
During Rosh Hashana, I read and re-read Flipping Out, by Yashar Books. In that book, there was a reference to The Outside World, by Tova Mirvis. The book was printed by Knopf Books. It was really good and illustrates the way that Modern Orthodox people grew up in the past 20 years or so.

A few good books I recommend:
"The Enemy We Know" Robert Baer's excellent assessment of US-Iranian relations in which he argues, quite correctly, for Nixon style China opening towards Tehran.
"Dinner with Mugabe", Heidi Holland's well written account of Zimbabwean tyrant Robert Mugabe.
"Rome 1960"- David Maraniss' fascinating account of the 1960 Olympic games in Rome.
"Eleanors vrs Ike"- Robin Gerber's highly intelligent counterfactual novel which presents the 1952 presidential election as a contest between Eleanor Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower.

Dear WRPN,
I will check out Rome 1960 by David Maraniss as well as The Enemy We Know.
The books that I mentioned are helpful in understanding how myself and many of my NY/Yeshiva University colleagues grew up.
One further note, there are some major changes in my life so my posts will be less frequent and I can foresee a time when I will be living somewhere else.
